The consumers are getting smarter each minute. Developers and salespeople need to understand that. What we used to do in the past could take years to be common knowledge to the general public because our methods of communicating were so much slower.
You might remember entertainers who worked their way to fame and fortune over a 20-year period because it took a long time to get around America, appear in many places, and ultimately build a following. Television sets had only three major channels.

Life! Ah, there’s nothing we’d rather have! If only the condo salesman would have known that extended life was included in the selling price of the condo back in 1984. Twenty three years ago, while visiting Mismaloya, just south of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, we were approached by a super condo salesman. His pitch was that after making the original deposit, the rental income would virtually pay for the condo. We fell for it and bought the full ownership condo and returned to Puerto Vallarta, known as PV or Vallarta by the locals, a couple times a year for many years while still working in Houston, Texas. We found that the week or ten days during each visit was so relaxing and stress free that one could totally recharge his batteries before returning to the hectic, high stress business life back in the States. After a week or ten days of sleeping like a baby, it was difficult returning to the routine grinding mill with the associated sleepless nights. The pace of life in PV, where everything can be done manana, was like being on another planet when compared to Houston. We always looked forward to the next trip to Vallarta and hated to see it come to an end.

If you’re like most people, you’ve heard the word “timeshare” and probably taken a timeshare tour at a vacation destination or maybe even at a local sales office in your community where they explained the product but you didn’t see the resort.
Surprisingly enough, there are many people who have never experienced a timeshare tour and the word timeshare and what to expect are a mystery. I was one of those people four years ago. I had never taken a timeshare tour and my only knowledge of timeshare was what I heard from people about buying a specific week every year to vacation, at the same resort, in the same sized condo. It sounded all too restrictive so I never investigated it for myself to see if it was a viable option for my life. I loved to travel and always wanted ways to do more and save money.

If I could chime in on what I’m over and done with as an artist, I’m through with the term “starving artist” and am ready to replace that with “well-fed artist.” A couple of days ago I spoke with a prospective client of mine who was a painter, and within 30 seconds I had heard all the stereotypes of the starving artist.
“I have no money.”
