Timeshare and vacation ownership. what are they about? What is it like to have a career in this industry? What does it take to make a six-figure income and to stay employed in the industry?
I am not writing these articles with the intention of hiring anyone since I’m not a sales recruiter. I do have an MBA in real estate development and management and my pet peeve in business is employee turnover. I just don’t like it. Turnover in the vacation ownership/timeshare industry is horrible.

I was sitting in a café in Mexico City. A man at a nearby table was talking into his mobile. My Spanish is only basic, but he kept shouting a word so often that it became embedded in my memory.

I mean they really stink and anyone who falls for this scam is going to be the loser. As insurance salespeople we all need people to tell our story to. Many of us use direct mail, seminars, referrals and many other sources. Then comes the one we all want, someone to set appointments for us so we only have to show up.
The need for an easy way to get appointments opens up the scam or easy money people. These “marketers” are ready and willing to sell us what we want, appointments. They promise at least two appointments a day with people eager to meet and discuss their financial affairs. They promise that the appointments will hold and they also promise a certain number will be a sale.

Like most business people, I receive my fair share of cold calls. During a more recent call, the person calling said that she worked for one of North America’s largest website developer. She then asked me two questions;
