Bb Guns And Teamwork
Posted on April 22, 2008 - Filed Under Business
Airsoft is a modern combat sport that involves the use of rifles, pistols and other devices that are merely replicas of the live weapons used by police and military organizations. The objective of this game is to defeat the opponents by hitting them with the round, plastic BB pellets that are expelled from BB guns, the term used for the faux firearms used in these battles.
The rules of this game vary, depending on the parameters set by both teams of the organizer of the game. Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag and Close Quarter Battles are very popular variations of this game. Team Deathmatch involves killing as many other players from the other team as possible until a frag limit or time limit is reached. The goal of Capture the Flag, on the other hand, is to be able to invade the opponent’s base and capture their flag. During Close Quarters Battles or CQB’s, both teams attack each other with pistols and other small, BB guns at very short range. Most of the time, such games involve skirmishes and can happen in a flash.
Developing Teamwork with Airsoft
In a company, a manager usually distributes tasks to the members of his team. He also makes sure that they are able to accomplish these tasks by supervising them. Employees should therefore be trained to follow their manager’s instructions. On the other hand, employees should also know what to do if things don’t go as planned. Sometimes, in his attempt to accomplish an objective he has to make his own call. Lastly, every single person in a team should learn to listen to the ideas of the other members and work together.
In other words, in order to survive in the corporate world, these people should have initiative, tough-mindedness, intuitiveness, emotional stability, social boldness and team orientation. These traits can be honed by playing with BB guns.
An airsoft game is the best team building activity for people in the corporate world. It greatly resembles the set up in a typical workplace. Here, the leader and his team are given an objective. Armed with their BB guns, they have to do whatever it takes to meet that goal. In fact, throughout the game, they will encounter a series of obstacles before they could reach that goal. And, during these times, there is no room for indecisiveness. In a game of airsoft, this trait can get you killed. Of course, before the game begins, the leader and the members of his team should have a plan. Aren’t these the steps that people in the corporate world must do before starting a project?
BB Guns and Fitness
Playing airsoft involves the need to evade and run after opponents. In doing this, there is a need to stay low. Moving with bended knees or doing a military duck walk can strengthen thighs and calves. Crawling on the ground, military style, can improve the strength of one’s arms. And, when there is a need to run or evade from an attacker, a little running becomes part of the game. This involves cardiovascular endurance.
Airsoft games are perfect for team building activities. Not only do they take care of the employees’ minds, they improve their fitness as well.
