Which Baby Nappies?

My advice is that when you are choosing baby nappies, make sure that they are made from natural fibers, are free from harmful chemicals, and don’t cost the earth!
You would think that it would be so simple to choose nappies for your new baby, but you would be wrong! There are so many different types, brands, shapes and sizes on the market that the whole process can actually become quite daunting.
Some of the cheapest disposable nappies often contain nasty chemicals such as bleach and chemical gels, which can cause rashes and damaged skin. You would also be shocked to learn that nearly 8 million nappies are thrown away in the UK every day, and 90% of these end up in landfill where they can take up to 500 years to biodegrade!
Real nappies are more expensive to buy, are more time consuming to wash, but can save you up to £500 in the long run (compared to using disposables). Also, as a result of our increasing waste management problem, some local authorities are now offering mothers an incentive to choose real nappies over disposables. For instance, Denbighshire County Council are now offering mothers vouchers worth up to £75, which can be used in part-payment for the purchase of real nappies.
You may be thinking that you would like the convenience of a disposable, but without the guilt?
Spirit of Nature offers a range of affordable baby nappies that are kind to baby’s skin and to the environment. They have Eco-disposables, semi-disposables and real nappies as well as 100% biodegradable nappy liners & nappy sacks.
The Moltex Eco & Bambo Nature nappies are the best alternative to disposables. These have all the features of the standard disposable, but are made with natural fibers, free from harmful chemicals, and come at an affordable price! ECO-disposable nappies can biodegrade in 6 months in a worming compost, and take significantly less time to break down in landfill.
Spirit of Nature also offers a nappy which gives you the best of both worlds. Weenees nappies are breathable, reusable nappies , which have 100% biodegradable and disposable nappy liners. Now this really is THE Eco Friendly Compromise!
